Adenosine [A den of sin]

• Slows down the action potential in atrioventricular node [impulse has to go into the den of sin and out again to reach ventricles]
• Causes bradycardia [snail heart]
• Antiarrhythmic [chaotic tremors are sinking into the den]
• Dilates cardiac capillaries, allowing blood to sink into veins. In ischemic heart disease where the block is upstream of capillaries, this will result in exacerbation of ischemia. [wide den drains the blood from the heart, turning it white]
