Antifungal topical [mushrooms]

Nystatin [NY (New York) state]
- Oral administration "swish and swallow" for oral or GI candidiasis and other fungi. Stays in GI and does not get absorbed. [River flows through NY state, killing candy and other mushrooms]
Griseofulvin [Girl rises full vine]
- Treatment of cutaneous fungal infections. With time, incorporated into keratin and prevents fungal growth
- Impairs microtubule polymerization [vine breaks tubules]
- Oral administration [pills dropping from the vine]
- Induces P-450 [strong liver]
- Contraindicated in porphyria ["Not for kids with pores"]
- Contraindicated with barbiturates (e.g. phenobarbital) [fan Barbi Tall blows pills away]
